虛構的記憶/The fiction of memory

《全面啓動》大概是繼《駭客任務》最具思考啓發最讓我回味無窮的電影了。劇中主角們的任務，是進入委託者指定的對象夢中，植入虛構的潛意識。劇情架構大膽創新，電影結局更是讓觀眾玩味。

說了半天，《全面啓動》到底和這演講有什麼關係？或許你認為植入潛意識是導演天馬行空的創意，但研究發現記憶的確是可以被植入的！我一直認為記憶就像私人專屬的大倉庫，各種經驗知識分門別類存入檔案櫃中。而如同《神隱少女》裡說的—發生的事情不會忘記，只是想不起來而已。存入的檔案不斷增加，當然有可能因年代久不常使用遠找不著了。但怎樣也沒想到其實別人也能偷渡檔案進去呢！

總之是相當有趣增廣見聞值得一聽的演講。聽了以後，你還多相信你的記憶力呢？

To me, Inception is the most thought-provoking and inspiring movie after the Matrix.  In this film the task of the characters is to plant an idea during the dream state of an assigned subject.  The story structure is bold and innovative.  The ending causes lots of discussion among audience.

So, how is Interception related to the talk above?  While you think that planting an idea in the subconscious is a fantasy of the director, research has found that it is possible to plant false memory into human beings!  To me, memory is like a big warehouse that is only accessible to the owner.  All the experiences and knowledge are sorted and stored in filing cabinets.  As said in Spirited Away, what happened will not be forgotten.  It is just that you can't remember it.  The files keep increasing as time goes by, and are gradually lost somewhere in the warehouse.  But it would never occur to me that others can sneak in another file!

Anyway, this is a very interesting and mind broadening speech.  How much will you still trust your memory after this talk?
