2013年回顧/2013 Review

不若2012年許多的不確定，2013年在馬克找到工作後，基本上就確定未來三五年我們的生活大概會是怎樣了。

．2012年在時代廣場狂歡，2013年我們倆則是用破病在家修養身體慶祝新的開始。
．二月份馬克找到在西密西根的工作。雖是個小城市，但對現階段的我們來說，或許是還算可以接受的結果吧。開車五到五個半小時的距離，比起之前必需要開上十個小時，真是好太多了。這也意味著我會在愛荷華繼續待下去。
．自從紐約行後我們就再也沒有機會一起度假旅遊了。在馬克開始工作後，年中我們選擇來個芝加哥小旅行，除了考量預算，距離近、又能享受大城市的氛圍，算是我們現在身為小鎮居民對大城市的朝聖。
．雖然我很喜歡我的公寓，不過考量預算，決定還是要搬家。花了好幾個星期尋找，再請馬克來這兒幫我開大貨車，終於在新公寓安頓下來。雖然不若之前的公寓寬敞、採光也不是我最喜歡的，不過對於一個人住已經很足夠了。而且這兒公車班次較多，離超市也近些，整體來說也挺滿意的。
．開始博士生涯第二年，要努力拼論文了。
．還有開始站在台上面對一群米國人帶實習課，嗯，還有許多進步的空間！
．感恩節我們一起回了一趟哥倫布市，在馬克姊姊姐夫家和他的家人一起慶祝感恩節。當然一定要享受我們喜愛的美食啊！
．年底的東京臺北行大概是今年最重要最值得紀念的事了！馬克第一次搭飛機飛越太平洋、第一次到亞洲、有機會見我的親戚朋友，對我們倆而言真是意義非凡，也為2013畫下完美的句點。

2012 was full of uncertainty.  Once Mark found his job at the beginning of 2013, we could see what our life would be in the following years.
．In 2012 we were at Times Square celebrating the beginning of a new year.  We welcomed 2013 by being sick and staying at home.
．Mark landed a job in west Michigan.  Though it was a small town, it was an acceptable option for us.  It only took us 5.5 hours to visit each other, which was a huge improvement compared to a 10-hour drive.  It also meant that I will stay in Iowa for a couple years.
．We hadn't had the chance to travel together since New York trip.  In May we had our second trip to Chicago.  In addition to budget consideration, Chicago was an ideal destination in terms of the distance and the atmosphere.  (Yes we are city people.)
．Though I liked my apartment a lot, I still decided to move due to budget consideration.  After weeks of searching, and help from Mark, I finally settled down in my second apartment.  My new apartment is smaller and doesn't get much sunlight since it faces west, but it is adequate for one person.  In addition, it has more choices of buses and a shorter distance to grocery stores, overall I am satisfied.
．My second year of PhD started, and second-year paper is my priority.
．We went back to Columbus to celebrate Thanksgiving with Mark's family.  Of course we visited as many beloved restaurants as we could.
．The trip to Tokyo and Taipei was the most important and most memorable event in 2013.  It was Mark's first time to fly over the ocean and to visit Asia, and we had the chance to see my family, relatives and friends.  Overall a great ending to 2013.
