台北之旅速記/Highlight of 2013 Taipei Trip

這次回台北，心情有點小複雜。原以為是回到熟悉的地方，但卻發現台北有些變了。距離我上次回去，現在多了兩條捷運線、紐約紐約也改名了；以前在東區或永康街小巷子鑽來鑽去那家店在那兒一清二楚，現在沒有先上網Google Maps查一下還不知道怎麼去。其實是有點感傷：我離台北似乎越來越遠了。
I felt complicated for my trip back to Taipei this time.  I thought I would go back to places that I was familiar with; however, I found Taipei has changed.  There are two more MRT lines, the department store New York New York has changed its name.  I used to be able to walk around downtown areas, pull out the map from my head and know exactly which store locates where.  Now I have to google the location first.  I felt a bit sad: it seems like Taipei is getting further away from me.

不過還是很開心和家人朋友相聚，這是最重要的事了。我沒有拍太多照片，只能就我有的放幾張上來。
Anyway, the most important thing: I got the chance to meet my beloved family and friends.  I was very happy that Mark and I could spend some time with them.  I didn't take many pictures.  I will just post some from what I have.

We chose to celebrate new year in Taipei.  So happy that Mark and I enjoyed the Taipei 101 firework together :)

Finally visited the Beito public library, which I had always wanted to visit!


來到臺北，大概是旅行的第四、第五天，平常不怎麼吃漢堡的馬克先生已經開始懷念米國食物想吃Five Guys。至於他對台北的感想？「臭豆腐超臭、豬肝口感很怪、機車騎士相當瘋狂、鼎泰豐很好吃、誠品書店非常令人驚豔。還有，怎麼中式料理跟我在美國吃到的都很不一樣？」
Mark seldom eat or crave for burgers while we are in the states.  When it came to the fourth or fifth day of our trip, he missed Five Guys already.  As for his thought about Taipei?  "Stinky tofu smells, the texture of the pork liver is weird, motorcyclists are crazy, Ding Tai Feng is delicious, and Eslite bookstore is impressive.  Oh, is there any Chinese cuisine that is remotely close to what I have in the US?"
